FAQ

Here is a list of commonly asked questions when our guests are booking…

Q: How much deposit is required to hold my date?

A: A 30% deposit holds your date.

Q: How do we meet when we come off a cruise ship?

A: I will meet you as you exit the ship holding a sign with your name on it.

Q: How far is the boat, and how do we get there?

A: In Ketchikan, we have a good amount of open moorage.  This allows me to position the boat close to the cruise ship. No cab/bus rides makes it more efficient to get on the water and fishing.

Q: Do we need fishing licenses?

A: Yes.  Licenses may be purchased online through the Alaska Dept of Fish and Game. Having your license in hand saves time.

Q: How early should I book my trip?

A: If you want to fish in Ketchikan, book as early as you can.  A few dates this year, the entire fleet was booked weeks in advance, and there were many people who were left standing on the dock.  We are already booking for next year and with approximately 120 days in our season, the dates fill up quite fast.  Ketchikan is one of the most popular fishing destinations in Alaska, so don’t delay.

Q: How much do people typically tip?

Tips are commonly 10-20% of the price of the charter.  A typical guideline for 4 person charters is:

4 hour: $100

6 hour: $200

Full Day: $300

Gratuities are based solely on your experience, and are not set to a specific amount.
