Ketchikan Salmon Fishing

by ryno on September 20, 2011

This was a great King salmon!  Flat calm day, no rain, and a great battle! Laurie almost handed the rod off due to exhaustion! She’s sure glad she didn’t now!  This King salmon was taken north of Ketchikan on a whole herring around July 9th-10th.  We had 4 others and they were running between 17- 21 feet deeper than the early coho’s that were stacked in the drag.  We hit 4 species that day…King salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, and Chum Salmon.

I will try to put up a new post with a picture frequently as the Ketchikan charter fishing season is done for me and I can get some new stuff up here for you to see!
